Masala Chai Tea

A cup of chai or tea, cherished by many in India and the West alike. A true comfort ‘food’, nourishing, and easy to make with its many aromatic spices.

1 Tbsp black tea
1 cup water
2 cloves
1 cardamom
few small cinnamon pieces
little grated ginger
1/2 cup almond milk
honey or jaggery to taste

Boil black tea in water. Add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger. Let boil for a few minutes. Add almond milk and bring to boil again. Simmer for few minutes. Strain. Add honey or jaggery. Serve hot and enjoy your chai.

Note: This updated version of the original chai recipe uses almond milk instead of milk and honey or jaggery instead of white sugar.
